About the Yorkshire Terrier
Developed in the mills and mines of 19th-century Yorkshire, England, to chase rats, the Yorkie has come a long way from the factory floor. With its long, flowing blue-and-tan coat, this toy breed weighs under 7 pounds but carries the terrier's fearless attitude. Today the Yorkie is a fashion icon and devoted companion.
